How does the System work?

Our County Alert System is part of a National service that allows local, state, and federal entities to send emergency alerts to the entire community through the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS), which includes our Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) and the Emergency Alert System (EAS). In addition, our local subscribers will receive other important alerts depending on their selections, such as community, traffic, and local alerts. Another option is Weather Alert Radios, managed by the National Weather Service, which can activate radios in the affected area.
